On the importance of proofreading…
Posted by: | CommentsHave you ever been engrossed in a great novel, and suddenly you come across an error? It’s like being slapped in the face. You step back from the story, feeling let down and a bit annoyed that the little disarrangement of words had the audacity to mar your story. It’s a bit like trying on the most beautiful dress in the world, only to get to the checkout and realise it has a snag on it. And it’s the only one left in the store.
On charging for writing services…
Posted by: | CommentsI took our eldest dog to the vet yesterday for a suspected ear infection. I’m a paranoid owner, and although I was sure there was nothing wrong, I booked her in anyway. I told the vet that my husband and I had both baulked at paying a potential fifty pounds just to feed my neurotic tendencies.
The vet decided as Nietzsche was fine, there would be no charge. Paul and I ‘high fived’ on the way out, feeling like we’d had a great result. The vet was probably fed up that we’d wasted his time. This is not the way for him to conduct a successful business, but it meant a lot to us.
Now I get it!
Posted by: | CommentsI’ve just had a major breakthrough with blogging. If you post comments to other blogs, people come and visit your site. I had no idea! It’s like a big online party where everyone is invited.
I could get seriously addicted to this whole blogging business. I’m busy implementing things like Social bookmarking capabilities and Amazon affiliates. I feel as if I could jump in to my site now and have a wander around, picking things up, looking at them, and moving them around.
Thank you to Andrew from We build your blog for sorting everything out for me! I wonder if anyone has been so involved in their blog that they forgot to go outside?
